Modern residence located in the private oceanfront community in East Hampton, New York was designed by Bates Masi Architects. Architects developed modern designs by considering the scale of the property to suit the surrounding environment which is very conservative in design and scale. This building has a total area of 7,405 square feet of living space with the support of a wooden block structure.
The main building consists of two floors where the first floor is for guests and entertainment, while the second floor is reserved for families. The family bedrooms are surrounded by native grasses which also provide a touch of nature for open spaces that offering sea views. In the elevated ground plane there is a path that connects family areas with entertaining areas.
Building structures are supported by steel girders and columns which expose wooden blocks. The unique building structure allows a smooth material transition from indoors to outdoors. In the construction of this residence, Architect chose to use materials that are very friendly with agricultural buildings to ensure strong weather resistance and easy maintenance.
