Okuta Collection, Functional Art Design Pieces by Mimi Shodeinde of Miminat Designs

London based Product and Interior Architecture Studio, Miminat Designs introduces the Okuta Collection as their new functional art collection. The functional art design pieces are the work of British-Nigerian interior architect and designer, Mimi Shodeinde. The Okuta Collection includes serving boards, tea sets, bowls, ceramics, decanters and jugs.

The Okuta Collection is a work of art made from a combination of wood, glass, gold leaf, brass, and ceramic. The Okuta Collection creates the perfect meeting between art and design. Pieces of raw and dark wood combine smoothly with a texture of glass and brass. While the use of gold leaf is intended to give a touch of local culture.

The Okuta Collection is handmade in Europe which combines modern European style with classic African designs. The designer, Mimi Shodeinde apply a variety of cultures and incorporated them into her designs inspired by her Nigerian heritage and her love for travel so as to produce a work of art detail-oriented.
